Inside all of us lies a fabulous diva. My definition of a diva is someone who looks in the mirror and sees the world at their finger tips. The thing is, divas are like snow flakes, we are all different but that's where Chloe + Isabel comes in. The concept behind this wonderful jewelry line is everyone knows a Chloe and everyone knows an Isabel. They are both smart and confident but they express themselves differently. My personal favorite online shopping destination is ModCloth. When I am stuck inside, on a rainy day I always end up spending an embarrassing amount of time updated my wishlist. I call it cyber window shopping. Modcloth's clothing, shoes, accessories, and decor, keep the past alive by holding on to a vintage aesthetic but with a modern twist.   

ShopRuche

It's official, ShopRuche, is my new favorite online boutique. The story about how the shop came about is absolutely endearing. Ruche was created and designed by newlyweds Mai and Josh Olivo in 2008. Mai was having a difficult time finding clothes that she liked. (I definitely know the feeling.) Anyway, she started to sell clothing and jewelry online that she loved! She then created ShopRuche, which started from their own home. Mind you, at this point Mai and Josh were still working their 8-5 jobs. So, they would ship packages during lunch, and answer emails during breaks. The day wasn't over yet though! As soon as Mai and Josh got home, they instantly went to work on Ruche, barley getting any sleep. (Sounds like my schedule here at college hah). They then took a leap of faith; Mai quit her job as a web developer and Josh quit his job in engineering management. "Leaving our budding careers in the corporate world was nerve racking, but it was the best decision we've made together, plus we could finally get some sleep!" Their story is so inspiring! It reminds me of an Eleanor Roosevelt quote, "the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

I received a lovely email from Petra Helvela yesterday morning. She introduced me to her online store called Pukine Shop. Most of the clothing labels sold are Scandinavian like Camilla Norrback, Ivana Helsinki, Patouf, and Lotta Djossou. The fact that when you go to a thrift store there is a very high possibility you will walk out empty handed, is no secret. However, that doesn't stop us from spending hours digging because, finding a rare treasure is always worth it. That being said, I found out that there “is an online store selling new independent designer pieces from around the world and vintage finds from the American south.” Thrift stores in the Tristate area, in my opinion, don’t have the array of lovely vintage dresses that thrift stores in the south do. I am so excited to know that I don’t have to drive for hours, let alone leave my own bed, to get a chance to buy those dresses myself! Check out Silent Sundays! You won't leave empty handed.
